No! Not in Russia. If you want a piece of Black Sea and best of Russian mentality hit Crimea in Ukraine. Been there, done that.

  2. Edward N. says:

Yeah, Yalta would probably be the best bet.

  3. Jennifer V says:

I lived there for about 3 years till 2007. Unfortunately, no. It is a beautiful spot, however your best bet would be Turkey (same thing by the Black Sea) or Bulgaria.

    Here’s why.
The climate: wonderful of course, its sunny alot of the time, very windy (but a nice windy, like a beautiful spring breeze) and its humid. The weather is lovely.
The sea: the water is great of course, however, the problem I found was GARBAGE EVERYWHERE. There’s shoes, styrofoam, old glass bottles (I even got a glass stuck in my toe whilst wearing shoes), and often dirty. This is of course for the general public, perhaps its better by the hotel?
The people: Unfortunately horrid. With the Olympics coming up soon, the whole region of people has become greedy beyond belief. I saw many of my tourist friends completely ripped off by the locals and the restaurants. Of course not knowing Russian they were completely taken advantage of. The only reason I would not recommend going there is solely for the greed of the people and the rudeness and looks you may encounter from the locals. Everything is super expensive, and not worth it by any means.

The decision is yours of course. I would recommend going to either Turkey or Bulgaria, both from which you’ll get the feel of the Black Sea with the same climate and sights but without the problem of the locals. In both of those countries, they’ll make sure you’re taken care of and won’t rip you off. Also, if you want to see Russia, this area would not be the best.

    I wouldn’t recommend. That’s why:

    People are rude.

    Garbage is everywhere.

Service is not as as good as in Turkey but a way more expensive.

Even many Russians prefer to go to Turkey rather than to the Black Sea!

  5. Dmitry says:

The level of service is not yet high. Prices are very high. Rubbish.
I would recommend going to either Turkey or Bulgaria.

I answer because I saw my dear Black Sea in your question.
If you think about OCEAN, try to find one, here is not the best place for surfing.

If you really want the Black Sea, then you have many options: Russia, Ukraine, Romania, and of course, the most famous destinations: Bulgaria and Turkey. Their knowledge in making tourists to feel extraordinary made their well-deserved international fame!

We, Romanian, are trying hard to regain a good place in tourists hearts – and we have something extra to compensate: the Danube Delta, the only delta of Europa!
A paradise of birds and fish, sturgeons, swan, pelicans, water-lilies.

If you prefer normal summer resorts, you can think of Mamaia, Neptun and Olimp, the most famous in Romania (you have hotels, restaurants, clubs, water sports, …).

I add some pictures – please take a look!

    Mamais is absolutely superb!

From a budget perspective, better to visit from Ukraine.
