Its not a dangerous country. If you plan to go vacationing I suggest you go to Moscow and St. Petersburg. Its really great!

9 May of every year you could watch the best military parade in the world, the victory day.
Of course there is normal and friendly people, its not like the stereotypes that you see on american movies.
Its maybe a little dangerous because of racial crimes, there is a resurgence of neo ***** groups, but moscow is a city of 14 million people!
Russian police are very rude, but if you do not commit any crime
Do not go with a GPS to Russia, they could think you are a spy.
Dont buy antiques, maybe they are stolen.
Do not forget to visit the Kremlin, its an old fortress in Moscow with hundreds of years of history, or thousands if Im not wrong.
The Moscow metro is the most elegant metro in the world

I was In Moscow & st peter for awful tow weeks
Once they tried to kill me as they thought I’m Armenian
Second they tried to kill me as they thought I’m Chichinian
Third, the Smartest Russians tried to kill me as they Knew I’m Egyptian.
I have seen with my 2eyes 8 Russian giants kicking another unconsciousness russian in the street floor ,and people didn’t mind as it is normal.

Russia can be amazing or not so great.
Ive come to realize that you experience will differ depending on where in Russia you go. I live in Moscow, it is amazing for a visit, but it is very challenging to live in. Its a very stressful life. moscowvites can come across as a bit… rude; especially if you are not Russian or if you cant speak Russian-however, there are some very nice moscowvites.St. Petersburg is on of my favourite places in Russia. The people are usually so nice.
If you want to see Russia, i think that is a wonderful idea. It has amazing culture, and a very interesting past. It is defiantly a unique place. But as in every place, there are crimes, so be careful.
